World Radiography Day is celebrated on the 8th November every year. This date marks the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895. It showcases the roles of radiographers and images taken every day worldwide.
MIS applications specialists Linda Hanley and Karen Wood were asked to assist with an event held at The Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow, where 25 enthusiastic 5 year old Primary school children from Miller Primary School, attended a fun, learning event at the Hospitals Imaging department.
Lead Ultra-Sonographer Morag Green was ably assisted by Linda Hanley (MIS Healthcare) and Lead Plain Imaging Radiographer Jim Embleton was ably assisted by Karen Wood (MIS Healthcare).
The children were split into three groups and rotated through work stations. They had their fingers and arms scanned, and saw a scan of Linda’s heart.
